Darlene Jane Malmsjo

Darlene Jane Malmsjo died on September 9, 2025 in Tampa, Florida at the age of 80. Darlene was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 5, 1944 but she spent her childhood in Pleasantville and Chappaqua, New York. Darlene attended Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua and went on to work in the accounting field. Eventually Darlene and her business partner Edward Semlitz went on to develop several very successful businesses in Tampa, FL including Sunstate Courier Inc., at one time the largest overnight courier service in Florida, and Handi Cab Services, which provided transportation for the disabled. After selling the companies Darlene retired and spent most of her time initially on ocean cruises and later, she enjoyed decorating her home for various holidays.

Darlene was never married and had no children. Her parents, Albert and Muriel Malmsjo proceeded her in death. Darlene is survived by her two brothers and their wives, Albert Malmsjo, III (Barbara) and Christopher Malmsjo (Patricia). Darlene is buried next to her parents in Serenity Meadows Memorial Park in Riverview, Florida.
