Darlene Z. McBride, age 91 of Moore, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025.
She was born on February 3, 1934 to James Garvin and Gladys Mollie (Macklin) Northcutt in Yukon, Oklahoma. Her father worked for the railroad, and she lived several places in Texas and Oklahoma as a child.
Darlene attended school in Ponca City and obtained a degree from Draughn's School of Business. She was employed by Montgomery Ward Department store as an advertising agent.
Darlene was known as a feisty red-head and was a very generous person. She was always willing to help those in need. She loved her children and grandchildren and was a babysitter for many children. Throughout her life she was able to travel to many places within and outside the U.S. She was well known for making the best tacos, by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by; her parents; her husband, Darrell R. McBride; her daughter, Dalina Reynolds and her husband David; her sisters, Louise George, Lucille Strompolis, Alava Anaya, and Charlotte Webster.
Those left to cherish her memory are; daughter, Vicky Webster and husband Joe of Moore; son, Leland Gale and wife Heidi of Wichita, KS; daughter, Teresa Kennemer and husband Tim of Luther; grandchildren, David, Richard, Davina, Christina, Melissa, Ryland, Katelyn, Shaun, Tyler, and Michael; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Friday, April 11, 2025 before the service. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 11, 2025 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Ed McCreery officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Tecumseh, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
