Darlene Kittell McCarthy, 87, of Abbeville, SC, died, Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Compassus McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC. She was born in Johnson City, NY to the late Fred and Arvada Runyon Kittell.
Darlene retired from Flexible Technologies, after many years of service, as an assembler. A dedicated member of Abbeville First Baptist Church, she found great joy in her faith. Darlene will be remembered for her genuine heart and the impact she made on the lives of her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra McCarthy and sister, Patricia Ann Kittell Owens.
Darlene is survived by her four sons, Michael McCarthy, Jack McCarthy, Tracy McCarthy and J. Daniel Shaw; sister, Karen Stanton; brother-in-law, George Owens; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 3:00PM – 5:00PM, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home, 302 N. Main Street, Abbeville, SC 29620. Inurnment will be in Warren Center Cemetery in Pennsylvania at a later date.
