Darlene Merson Obituary

Darlene J. Merson, age 80 of Shiocton, passed away peacefully at home on Friday April 4, 2025 surrounded by her dogs. Darlene was born on December 19, 1944, the daughter of the late Beatrice Reavis. She grew up on the family farm before moving to town as a teenager. Darlene graduated from Shiocton High School. She married Roger Merson on October 26, 1991 in Shiocton. In addition to raising a family, Darlene worked at Hillshire Farms until her retirement. She enjoyed going to church, shopping, finishing puzzles, relaxing in the pool, going out for Friday fish fries and family gatherings. Darlene loved being around people and could talk to anyone. Above all, she loved her family, her dogs and cat!
Darlene is survived by her children, Gregg Colwitz, Randy (Boni) Colwitz, Matthew (Rachel) Colwitz and Chad (Laura) Colwitz. She is further survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and many friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice and husband, Roger.
The Funeral Service for Darlene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Borchardt Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery, Town of Bovina.
