Darlene Morgan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clark Funeral Home - Versailles on Mar. 18, 2026.
Darlene Joyce White Morgan, age 77, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her devoted family on Tuesday, March17, 2026 at Nortons Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky. Darlene was born on March 3, 1949, in Shelby County, Kentucky to the late Howard Minish White and the late Nancy Catherine Stratton White. She spent much of her childhood in the loving care of her cherished late grandparents, Paul and Elsie Stratton, whom she loved dearly.

Darlene is survived by her husband and dedicated caregiver, General Rusoe Morgan. In June, they would have celebrated 61 years of marriage and she often said General, whom she met at the age of sixteen, was the love of her life. In addition to her husband, Darlene is survived by two children: Joyce Elaina Morgan Nation (Kenneth) of Bagdad, Kentucky and a son, James Keith Morgan of Shelbyville, Kentucky. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Daniel Mathis Morgan of Bagdad, Robin Britanny Vector (Michael) of Lexington, Kentucky, Cecil Robert Herrell of Frankfort, General James Ray Taylor Morgan, and Dale Jarrett Morgan, both of Shelbyville. Nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild survive Darlene along with two sisters: Linda Carol Wentworth and Martha Ann Smith, both of Shelbyville. In addition, Darlene is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law, all of whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, Darlene is preceded in death by two brothers; Howard Minish White, Jr. and Harold Austin White and one sister, Geraldine White Andrews.

Darlene's wishes were for cremation with no public funeral services. A private family gathering in her honor will take place at a future date.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Norton Healthcare Brownsboro, Hosparus Health of Louisville, and to Olivia Downs, her in-home caregiver and companion, for excellent care during Darlene's illness. Their professionalism and compassion to both patient and family will long be remembered. Clark Legacy Funeral Home, Frankfort, has been entrusted with arrangements.
