Darlene B. Nelson

Darlene B. Nelson, 75, of Rhome, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 in Bedford, Texas.

Memorial Service is 12 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd. Fred Raney will officiate.

Darlene was born November 27, 1949 in Doylestown, PA to Marian Landis and Kenneth Vogt. Darlene attended Wilmer Hutchins High School in Dallas, Texas. She was married to the love of her life, Charles Nelson, on November 1, 1968 in Irving, Texas. She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. Darlene was a member of the Rhome Church of Christ and belonged to the Harley Owners group. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Nelson; parents, Marian and Clayton Wegscheider; and her granddaughter Emily Hopper.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Suzanne Rhines and husband Stacy of Fort Worth, Donna Hopper of Rhome, Carol Nicholson and husband Scottie of Euless; her grandchildren, Morgan Rhines, Chris, Bryan, and Dee Hopper, Andrew and Kolten Hathaway and Madison Korkmas; her great grandchildren, Carson Hopper, Adalynn Thweat, Leif “Bear” Hathaway; siblings, Janice and Skipper, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, extended family members and a host of friends.
