Boyd ~ Denise Arlene Day, 73, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Boyd.

Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 25th, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with burial at 1:30 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24th, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Denise was born on September 18, 1952, to Wayne Asher and Sammie Darie (Cook) Hunter in Fort Worth. She was united in marriage to Hubert Pierce Day, Jr., on September 18, 1970, in Fort Worth. She found her greatest joy in her grandchildren. Whether attending their many sporting events, celebrating birthdays, or simply watching them play and enjoy the outdoors at her home, she cherished every moment spent with them. She loved cooking special meals for them and creating a warm, welcoming place where they always felt at home. Above all, she faithfully supported and encouraged them, guiding them in the Lord and reminding them of His love every step of the way. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Sammie Hunter, and her brothers, David and Phillip Hunter.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Hubert Day, Jr., of Boyd; her sons, Troy Day and his wife Andrea of Aurora, and Jared Day and his wife Lisa of Boyd; her daughter, Aaron Reid and her husband John of Boyd; her sister, Elizabeth Ross and her husband Jerry of Crowley; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
