Gary Norman, 74, of Rhome, went to be with our Lord on Friday, December 26, 2025, in Decatur, Texas.
Graveside service is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Aurora Cemetery.
Fred Raney to officiate. Honorary Pallbearers include Reade Bounds, Austin Womack, Greg Norman, Greg Obermeier, Tony Ciovacco, and David Teaff.
Gary was born January 8, 1951, to Beryl Anderson and Dortha Louise (Thornton) Norman in Decatur, Texas. He graduated from Northwest High School and proudly served in the United States Army. Gary was a Purple Heart recipient for his service in Vietnam. Afterward, he received his Master’s Degree from UNT and worked as a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor until retirement, making a positive impact on many lives along the way. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many who miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Beryl and Dortha Norman.
Those left to honor his memory are his daughter, Amy Bounds and husband Joe of Boyd; his sister, Lisa Obermeier and husband Greg of Haslet; his granddaughter, Mia Womack and husband Austin of Decatur; his grandson, Reade Bounds of Boyd; his great-grandson, Hudson Womack of Decatur; his aunt, Dolores Coleman and husband Leon; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to Maria Contreras for the outstanding care and compassion given to Gary.
