Darlene Jones Newman, 57, of Milam, Texas, passed away on September 29, 2025, at her residence in Milam. Born on September 11, 1968, in Dallas, Texas, to James Howard Jones and Joyce Ann Ebarb, Darlene was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a beloved presence in the lives of many.

Darlene dedicated much of her professional life to serving others as a cleaning consultant in the home health care field. Her work reflected her deeply caring nature and her unwavering commitment to helping those around her. Known for her selflessness and nurturing spirit, she was always taking care of everyone-family, friends, and clients alike.

Family was at the heart of Darlene's world. She found immense joy and pride in her children and grandchildren, who were truly the loves of her life. She is survived by her mother, Joyce Eaves of Milam; sons, Jason Jones and wife, Beverly, of San Augustine, and Deven Newman of Milam; daughters, April "Jodi" Wilson and husband, Kenneth, of Hemphill, and Kacey Newman of Milam.

She also leaves behind a large and loving extended family: brothers, Jim Hogan and Darci Bass of Milam, J.D. Scroggins of Houston, and Justin Eaves of Oklahoma; sisters, Rhonda Hogan and wife, Skyler, of Orange, Carla Jones of Porter, Heather Moody and husband, Josh, of Geneva, Brianna Hogan of Geneva, and Danica VanNoller of Porter. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Layna, Larissa, Tucker, Brisyn, Aris, Kaistyn, Asher, Wilder, Ellie, Tyler, and Hunter; great-granddaughter Mahala; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father, James Jones; stepfathers, Jimmy Ray Hogan and Franklin "Poncho" Eaves; and sister, Tina Waugh.

She lived life to the fullest with a joyful heart that touched everyone she met. Her warmth radiated through every act of kindness she offered-whether it was a listening ear or a helping hand. Those who knew Darlene will remember her as someone who gave endlessly without expecting anything in return.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Floyd Wright and Bro. Brad Moody officiating.

Visitation will begin prior to service from noon until service time.

Burial will follow services in Moran Crossing Cemetery located in Milam.
