JayeAnn Gentry, 69, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away on September 22, 2025, at her residence in Hemphill.

Born on July 12, 1956, in Canada to Don Doherty and Molly O'Donahue Doherty, JayeAnn brought warmth and creativity into the lives of those around her. She spent the last 33 years as a resident of Sabine County, where she became a cherished member of the community.

JayeAnn was the proud owner of JayeAnn's Quilts in Hemphill, where her passion for quilting blossomed into a beloved local business. Her artistry and dedication were evident in every stitch, and her quilts became treasured keepsakes for many. Beyond her work, she found joy in fishing and hunting-activities that brought her peace and connection with nature.

She is survived by her husband, David S. Gentry of Hemphill; her son, Chris Bonner and his wife, Carrie, of Dayton, Ohio; daughters Kelly Walter and her husband, Jonathon, of Arnold, Maryland; and Jamie Hull of Hemphill. She also leaves behind her brothers, Kevin Doherty of Maryland and David Doherty of Colorado; her sister, Teresa Doherty of Virginia; and eight grandchildren who brought great joy to her life.

JayeAnn was preceded in death by her father, Don Doherty.

Her legacy lives on through the family she loved deeply and the community she served with heart and talent. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Free Methodist Church in Hemphill, Texas.
