Darlene Sexton Obituary
Darlene Irene Sexton, born March 3, 1932, to Paul and Helen (Chase) Knowles, in Madelia, MN, passed away on March 21, 2025, in Backus, MN.
Darlene enjoyed making quilts and teaching others to quilt. She made recipe books for her children so her family recipes could be passed down through generations. Darlene was a woman of faith and loved her church, but her family was her biggest treasure.
Darlene is survived by her 8 children, Steve (Jenny) Sexton, Jean Valek, Ron (Nora) Sexton, Gerald Sexton, Jack Sexton, Bonnie Eastvold, John Sexton, and Bill (Gwyn) Sexton; sister, Katherine; 26 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orie Sexton; son, Gary Sexton; siblings, Ralph, Harold, Robert, Duane, Betty, Patricia, and Dorothy; son-in-law, Duane Valek; and daughters-in-law, Nancy Sexton and Patty Sexton.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Mildred Bible Chapel in Backus. A visitation will be held the hour prior to the service.
