Darrel M. Twiss "Wakhangli Ohankho" was born on June 7, 1938 in Pine Ridge, SD. Darrel made his journey to the Spirit World on September 23, 2024 at his home in Lonesome Valley, SD.
Darrel is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Twiss; sons, John (Eva) Twiss and Darrel A. "Tony" (Kristin) Twiss, both of Rapid City, SD; daughters, Nanette "Sis" (Patrick) Twiss, of Rockyford, SD and Sheila (Loren) Ladeaux of Rapid City, SD; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sibling, Doug Patton, Irene Blue Horse of Pine Ridge, SD, Lois "Chic" Fraser of Porcupine, SD, Ernest Pourier of Vermillion, SD and Estelle Goings from Rapid City, SD; and one special dog, Okoye.
Darrel was preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle Lee Twiss; and his brother Duane "Baloney" Twiss.
Navy Veteran-served from 1957-1961.
Pallbearers will be Darren Kihega, Darrel "Todd" Kihega, Daniel Kihega, Haedyn Haas, Terrel Twiss, Drew Johnson, Daryl Matthews, Alex Twiss, Tommy Twiss, John Twiss, Jr., and Loren Ladeaux, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be and All Friends & Relatives.
Visitation Services: Visitation service starting at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Doug's Sundance Ground located 4 miles North of Sharp's Corner.
Funeral Services: 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Doug's Sundance Ground located 4 miles North of Sharp's Corner, SD with Military Roll Call to follow.
Traditional Lakota Services: Doug Patton
Officiating: To Be Announced
Burial Services: 2:30 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD
