Darrell graduated from Wishek High school in 1965. Stationed in Germany, he earned distinctions including the National Defence Service Medal and Marksmanship Badge. Darrell attended NDSCS from 1969 to 1971. Darrell exchanged vows with Sherry R. Schopp on May 3, 1970, in Lehr, North Dakota, and together they cherished fifty-three wonderful years.
Remembered fondly as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Darrell's kindness, smile, and sense of humor persisted even in the face of illness. Though deeply missed, his loved ones find comfort in the knowledge that he rests in the presence of his Savior, Jesus.
