Darrell Edwards, a cherished soul whose laughter and kindness resonated in every life he touched, passed away on November 14, 2025. He was born in Dallas, Texas, on July 25, 1974. At the age of 51, he leaves behind a legacy rich with love, memories, and countless moments shared in the warmth of family and friends.
Darrell's spirit was vibrant and filled with joy, woven into the fabric of his days spent at General Motors, where his work ethic was a testament to his dedication and passion. He was a proud graduate of Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas, where the seeds of his confident and outgoing nature were sown.
As a father, Darrell enveloped his children—daughter Victoria Edwards Hayes and sons Darian Wilson and Devin Edwards— encouraging them to reach for the stars. With a heart as warm as a summer's day, he stood proudly beside his adoptive mother, Fannie Edwards, from Mansfield, whose unwavering love guided him through life.
The bonds of brotherhood beckoned in the form of Quincy Edwards, who resides in Gilmer, Texas, along with sister-in-law Beth Edwards of Gilmer, Texas, while his sister, Washandia Edwards, continues the family tradition of resilience in Arlington. There were also beloved nephews Joshua Greer and Timothy Bouldin, each of whom brought their own joys into Darrell's life, and cousins such as Yolanda Clemmen, Kerri Edwards, Alex Edwards, Shontay O'Neil, Samara Brooks, Shane O'Neil, and Shazzan Mimes, all adding richness to his story.
Darrell's spirit took flight during weekends of barbecue and camping trips, where he forged unforgettable memories with family and friends Shannon Woods, Quintus Lee, Lori, and Freddie Hutchinson. Together, they shared laughter over playing cards and were often serenaded by the soulful strains of blues, country, and western music—the soundtrack to good times and great camaraderie.
While he is survived by an ever-growing tapestry of loving family and friends too numerous to name, his spirit is also honored by those who have departed, including his beloved mother Brenda Sue Edwards and father Butch Smith. Their memory rests gently within him, as he carries their lessons forward into the lives he profoundly influenced.
Darrell Edwards will be remembered for the irreplaceable light he brought to the world. A visitation will be held on November 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas. As we gather to celebrate a life rich in spirit and warmth, we honor not just the man who has left us but also the eternal echo of laughter, love, and cherished memories that will forever remain imprinted in our hearts.
