Darrell Failing Obituary
Darrell was born on May 25, 1943, in Las Animas Colorado. He moved with his family to Montrose. He passed away July 17, 2024, with his wife by his side at Willow Tree Care Center.
Darrell married Norma Jean in 1964; they had three children. He worked for Burkey Lumber for 30 years then for Butler Lumber. In 1996 he retired. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time in his woodshop making knick knack cabinets for his wife, rocking horses and toy boxes for his grandkids. He also enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer.
Darell is survived by his wife Norma Jean Blair, sisters Irene Owns, Lucille Follman and Sharon Bingham. sons Floyd (Crystal) Caraway, Darrell JR (Marie) Failing, Hayley (Derek) Nero and Danialle (Steve Weller) nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Darrell was reunited with his parents Clifford and Golda Failing, brothers, Elmer and Roy, sisters, Lorena and Ella, granddaughter Jessica, and great-grandson Emmett.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday July 26, 2024, at Grandview Cemetery.
