With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Darrell Duane Green, who departed this life on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Darrell will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving father, loyal brother, and steadfast friend.
Born on October 16, 1949, Darrell was the beloved son of the late Esther and Robert Green. His older brother, Marshall Green (Patti), was not only his sibling but his lifelong best friend, confidant, and partner in countless adventures.
Darrell built a “stress free” life in Perry Township. He retired in 2012 from Akro, where he spent his entire career. After retirement, he embraced the simple pleasures he loved most, golfing with friends and family, cruising the backroads on his Harley Davidson, or tinkering under the hood of one of his cherished cars. One of Darrell’s proudest accomplishments was his 29 years of sobriety, a journey he approached with strength and unwavering commitment
He is survived by his three children: Crystal Apostalides, Shelley (John) Goodrich and Eric Green. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Julia, Makayla, and Andrew Apostalides, and Danielle (Josh) Koestler.
In addition to his immediate family, Darrell is survived by a large and loving extended family and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and generosity.
A celebration of Darrell’s life will be held on Thursday, October 2nd, at First Christian Church, 6900 Market Ave. N, Canton, OH 44721. Calling hours will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 5:00 p.m., with a dinner reception afterward.
