Hudak-O'Shea & Gabriel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. - OlyphantDarrell Jones, 70, of Olyphant, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Mid Valley Health Care Center, Peckville.
Born on December 27, 1954, he was the son of the late William Thomas Jones and a member of Elm Park United Methodist Church, Scranton. A graduate of Lakeland High School, Darrell proudly served in the United States Navy, where he worked as a sheet metal fabricator. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed following Penn State, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Boston Red Sox.
Surviving are his daughter, Lacey; stepdaughter, Chrissy; two half-sisters, Robin Cogswell and husband Gordon, Florida, and Shari Parana, Pennsylvania; one niece, Kim Rafalko and husband Jeff, Florida; two nephews, Martin Rafalko and wife Amy, Pennsylvania, and Kyle Cogswell and wife Jessica, New York; great-niece, Emily Gohsler, Minnesota; three great-nephews, Aaron Rafalko, Nebraska, and Thomas and Christian Rafalko, Pennsylvania; and a great-great-nephew, Ambrose Kilhullen, Minnesota; as well as several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Noah, and sister, Becky Lou Jones.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Fairview Memorial Park, 111 State Route 435, Elmhurst Township, with Pastor Jason Schwartzman, Elm Park United Methodist Church, Scranton, officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Hudak-O’Shea & Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.
