Darrell Duane Lindstrom of Coin, MN, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN, after battling Parkinson's and cancer for many years. He was 78 years old.
Darrell was the first of 2 children born to Wilbur and Carol Lindstrom on January 4, 1947 in Alexandria, MN. He was baptized at Elim Lutheran Church in Osakis, MN, confirmed at Lewis Lake Covenant Church and graduated from Braham High School in 1965.
After high school, Darrell enlisted in the Army and went to Fort Rucker, Alabama to attend the US Army Aviation School, where he learned Aircraft Maintenance, and it is from there that he received a letter of commendation from the Department of Army stating "Your standing as #1 in a class of 41 students reflects your application to both academic work and practical maintenance." Darrell excelled in whatever he was interested in. He was then sent to Viet Nam to serve our country.
After an honorable discharge, he returned home and on November 1, 1969, Darrell and Lois (Leifgren) were united in marriage at Lewis Lake Covenant Church. Darrell and Lois were blessed with 5 children: Darrin, Mark, Robert, Paul and Haley.
Darrell and Lois started dairy farming at Coin, MN about 1971, and then due to Darrell's poor health, they had to retire from farming in 2003.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Mark.
He is survived by his wife Lois; children, Darrin, Robert, Haley and Paul; 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and sister Judith Nelson.
No Public Services will be held at this time.
