Darrell "Matt" Matthew Morgan, a cherished husband and father, passed away on December 17, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana, at the age of 56. Born on September 12, 1969, in Danville, Indiana.
Matt was a true jack of all trades; there was nothing he couldn't do or learn. His diverse career reflected his passion and commitment to embracing life fully. He took great pride in his abilities and shared that knowledge with those around him.
He attended Brownsburg High School, his learning extended beyond academics to his hobbies and interests. Whether it was being outdoors, camping, tinkering in the garage, boating, canoeing, or simply socializing with friends, he lived life with enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit. He found joy in the simple pleasures of mowing grass and spending time with family and friends, creating lasting memories.
Matt's proudest accomplishment came when he married the love of his life, Mary, on July 1, 2016. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and support. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Morgan; daughter, Carman Maxwell; sister, Pam (Mark) Perry; mother, Kathy Jones; father, Darrell J. Morgan; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Matt was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Morgan, who will forever be remembered in the hearts of those he left behind.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Borden, Indiana.
