Tony Simon, born on August 11, 1948, in New Albany, Indiana, left this world on February 13, 2026, in Corydon, Indiana. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his devoted family, who cherished him deeply.
For over 32 years, Tony dedicated himself to his work as a heavy machinery operator for the city of New Albany, where he was known for his diligence and commitment to his craft. His straightforward and honest approach to life was reflected in every aspect of his work, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers and those whose lives he touched.
Tony's educational journey began at New Albany High School, a place where his strong work ethic and adventurous spirit began to flourish. He was not just an accomplished professional; he was a man with a rich tapestry of interests. Fishing, hunting, and camping brought him joy, as did the vacations he took with his loved ones. Above all, Tony valued the time spent with his family and watching them grow and thrive was among his proudest accomplishments.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughters, Millie "Sue" Norman (Scott), and Lisa Ladd; grandchildren Ashley (Edwin) Arnold, Kayla Simon, Scotty Norman, Thomas (Diana) Norman, Angel Loney, Brianna Loney, and Bethany (Danny) Ladd. Each of them carries a piece of Tony's spirit and will forever cherish the memories of the moments they shared along with 11 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mildred Elizabeth Simon and parents, Doris and Johnny Simon, Sr. Their influence on his life instilled the values of hard work and honesty that he passed on to his family.
Tony's life will be celebrated with a visitation on February 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Southern Indiana, located on Ballard Lane in New Albany.
Though he may no longer be with us, Tony Simon's legacy of love, hard work, and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
