Darrell was a proud graduate of his local high school and dedicated the better part of his life to his work at Jeff Thorp Construction, where he served with distinction for 30 years. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, Foreman, and Supervisor, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues through his diligence and leadership.
Outside of his professional life, Darrell was deeply passionate about his hobbies. Known for his humorous spirit, he bestowed nicknames upon everyone he met, a testament to his playful nature and his unique way of connecting with people.
Above all, Darrell loved his family dearly. He is survived by his mother, Annie Keeton Overby, and his brother, Anthony Wade Overby and his fiancé, Amanda. He leaves behind three devoted daughters: Carissa Lynn Overby of Oklahoma, Jade Elizabeth Overby (Hailey Holbein) of Buffalo Junction, VA, and Haley Virginia Overby of Virgilina, VA. His cherished grandson, Kyng Jayden Jones, will carry forward the joyful memories of his grandfather.
Darrell was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vicki Fisher, his father, Lynn Colin Overby, and his brother, Charlie Samuel Overby. Though he faced these profound losses, Darrell remained a beacon of strength and love for those around him.
