Darrell Wayne Thompson, 69, of Seymour, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at his residence.
Born November 24, 1954, Madison, he was the son of the late Paul and Viola (Mason) Thompson. He married Beatrice Joann Thomas on November 30, 1981, in Greenville, South Carolina; she survives.
Darrell was a graduate of Madison High School and Southeastern Indiana Vocational School in Versailles in 1973. He worked for Arvin's Industries in North Vernon and had also worked for Chem Lawn (True Green) in Greenville, South Carolina and was bus driver for the London, Kentucky School System. He was a member of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed camping, watching football, boating, and motocross racing. Darrell loved being with his family and friends.
Surviving with his wife Beatrice; are his stepsons, Randy Bowling of Seymour, Roger Bowling and Ronnie (Tasha) Bowling, both of North Vernon; brother, Roger Thompson of Dupont; sisters, Debbie Aldridge and Paula Dyson; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with his and his family's wishes, cremation is planned with no services to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Darrell to the American Cancer Society.
