Darren James Buche

Darren James Buche, age 59, a lifetime resident of Springdale, WA passed away on Oct. 30, 2025 in Spokane, WA due to Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Darren was born on January 21, 1966 in Spokane, WA the son of Paul Dean and Ellen L. (Anderson) Buche.

He was raised on the family farm and his roots grew deep. He knew long days and the ability to run and repair farm equipment to care for the farm land. Darren attended school in Springdale through the twelfth grade. He then began to work at a local horse ranch before beginning at the Springdale Saw Mill. Over the years he would log and drive log truck with his father, as well as work for Doug Hines, Loon Lake Sand and Gravel, Usk Saw Mill, Jim Sink, Sam Dockins in Alaska, Texas farming, some crane work, hauling in California for running a processor for Richmond Logging for several years. In 1991, Darren became a father which he loved! Darren spent as much time as possible with his growing family as the went for walks, explored local fishing spots, rode bicycles, hunted and on a good occasion travelled off road for some mudding.

He was a tinkerer by nature and was always under the hood of some car, truck or piece of equipment. Darren led with his integrity and was an admirable provider and protector. In a crowd, he was an observer of enjoyed gaining the perspective of others through their conversations and interactions. His skill of observation was so in-tune, he could tell who had traveled their driveway by the tracks and knew who was coming by the sound of their vehicle. He loved to celebrate birthdays especially when it was his birthday. He was a loving husband and father. His larger-than-life presence will be missed and the memories he made will be shared and treasured.

Darren was preceded in death by his mom, Ellen, in 1994 and his dad, Paul in 2021.

He is survived by his wife: Bobbi Buche of Springdale, WA; children, Kayla Willis (Laz Lane) of Springdale, WA, Codey Buche (Skyla) of Valley, WA, Corey Buche (Abby) of Spokane, WA, Cameren Buche of Springdale, WA; siblings, Dean Buche (Barabara) of Springdale, WA, Doug Buche (Theresa) of Leavenworth, WA, Debbie Flett (Chad Hutchins) of Spokane, WA, 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.

The graveside service for Mr. Darren James Buche will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Springdale Cemetery in Springdale, WA. It will be followed by a potluck gathering at the family home. Memorial contributions may be given to the ALS foundation.
