Darrin Glade Burr passed away in Provo, Utah, on May 18, 2025. His battle with cancer is over.
He is survived by his mother Linda Ashton Bennett (Gary Bennett); his father, Glade LeEarl Burr (Anne Burr); his sister Cami Burr Henrie and brother-in-law, Scott Henrie; another sister, sponsored from Vietnam, Doi Tran; 8 children, 3 nephews and thus far, 6 grandchildren.
Darrin was a proud father of eight children. Three from his first marriage to Kimberly Parrott: L'Erin Carmode Hogg (Jared Hogg), Joe Carmode and Sabra Carmode Isaacson (Randy Isaacson). Five from his second marriage to Valerie Livingston: Merak, Spica Palmer (Zachery Palmer), Annabelle Jade Jackson (Parker Jackson), Atlas and Sarin. He was especially in awe of his grandchildren; Zoey and Zane Isaacson, Felix and Jasper Palmer, Crew Jackson, and another baby grand-daughter (Jackson) will be arriving later this year.
Born May 12, 1966, in Provo, Utah; the majority of his early years were spent in Orem, Utah and he graduated from Mountain View High School in 1984. In high school he excelled in debate and trumpet playing. That is where he met Scott Henrie. When they weren't practicing trumpet together they were out on Utah Lake water skiing. Oh, the stories he could tell.
His curious mind and entrepreneurial spirit carried him through many ventures - from starting his own computer business (DGA Computers, later renamed Computer One) to giving wine tours in Napa Valley.
He spent time living in Idaho, Hawaii, Colorado and California. While in California he joined the Bay Area Riders Forum (B.A.R.F) and made great friends there. Glade even joined them on one of their many road trips. One of his favorite places in the world was Lake Powell which he was able to visit again before his passing.
Known for his humor, stubbornness and generosity, Darrin was someone who would argue with you one minute and offer you the shirt off his back the next. He even saved a young mother's life when he witnessed an accident. Several people helped that night and he was in the center of it, directing people and lifting that car up.
He had a love for technology & computers, politics, jazz and trumpet music, motorcycle rides, watersports and fishing. In recent years, he lived more quietly, but remained full of stories, strong opinions and a deep love for his family.
A celebration of Life Open House will be held on August 9th at Paul Reams Wilderness Park in Provo, Utah from 1 pm to 5 pm. All who knew Darrin and loved him are welcome to come share memories and honor his life.
