Marilyn G. Carlsen
November 16, 1938 – April 15, 2025
Marilyn G. Carlsen, 86, returned home peacefully on April 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, in her beautiful home in Provo, Utah. Born on November 16, 1938, in San Diego, California, Marilyn spent the majority of her life in the Provo-Orem area of Utah.
She graduated from Orem High School on May 24, 1957, where she was a cheerleader and was honored as the friendliest girl in her class for three consecutive years. During her high school years, Marilyn worked at the SCERA Theater, a role she cherished. At 18, she embarked on a memorable summer adventure to Alaska, an experience she often recalled fondly. She also treasured time spent at her grandparents' ranch in Thistle, Utah.
Marilyn attended Brigham Young University, where she worked at the BYU Motion Picture Studios. After completing her education, she pursued a successful career with JAFRA Cosmetics, rising to the position of Vice President. She later contributed her talents to companies such as Sunrider Products and was owner of Candida Wellness Center. Beyond her professional endeavors, Marilyn was a devoted temple worker at the Provo Utah Temple for several years.
First and foremost, Marilyn was a dedicated mother. She is survived by her children: Margo Lynne Ryan, Jeff Finch, Lance Bastian, and Travis Carlsen. Her legacy continues through her 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, with one more expected soon.
Marilyn's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to family, her strong work ethic, and her vibrant spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
