Funeral service for Darry Phillips will take place at the Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport on Saturday , October 28th, 2023 beginning at 11:00am.
Visitation will take place before the funeral service from 8:00am to 10:30am at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at the Magnolia Cemetery of Evergreen.
Life of Journey
Darry Phillips was a child of Louis Phillips and Fannie Beverly. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age until his death.
Darry received his education in Bunkie, Louisiana. After receiving his education, he was drafted in the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam where he served his time and became Honorable discharged.
On April 12th 1969, Darry married Annie Mae Slaughter. To this union two children were born. Angela Phillips and Troy Phillips.
Darry was called home on Thursday, October 19th at 12:15am.
He leaves to cherish his lovely wife, Annie Mae Phillips from Cottonport, Louisiana; two daughters, Angela Phillips Dubrveil (Keith) from Kathy, Texas and Elnora Clayton from Alexandria, Louisiana; two sons, Troy Phillips (Daniell) and David McKinnely, who preceded him in death; four sisters, Geraldine Hatfield (Wilson), Linia Lee (Larry) from Houston, Texas; Sally Beverly Matthews and Rosalee Iles both from Houston, Texas who both preceded him in death; seven brothers, Vernon Phillips (Evelyn) and preceded him in death, Willie Arthur Beverly, Cephas Beverly Jr., James Phillips, Louis Phillips, John Henry Phillips, and Jewel Beverly.
He also leaves to cherish his other children, granddaughter, Troineshia Wickliffe, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
