Mr. Donald Anthony Johnson, age 69 of Cottonport, departed this life on Sunday, January 25, 2026, leaving behind cherished memories and quiet strength.
Born on May 14, 1956, to the union of the late Marvin Johnson and Wilma Lazine Johnson, Donald’s life began in a family that would grow with love, resilience, and unwavering support. From this union, five children were blessed into the world: Gregory M. Johnson (Julie) of Cottonport, LA, Lola M. Jackson of Alexandria, LA, Ronald Johnson (his twin), and Lana Robinson-Bates. Donald’s life was defined by his devotion to family and the bonds that held them together.
Donald attended school in Avoyelles Parish. During his adult years, he was gainfully employed by Lemoine’s Construction for 26 years. Though Donald faced life’s trials with quiet endurance, he carried within him a legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet generosity that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
In 1996, Donald was united in Holy Matrimony to Lisa Williams. Together they raised 3 daughters: Courtney Williams, Destiny (Lulu) Johnson, and Dasha Johnson. He cherished his children and the joy they brought into his life. He leaves behind his siblings, Gregory M. Johnson (Julie) of Cottonport, LA, Lola M. Jackson of Alexandria, LA, and Billy Ray Bazert, Sr. (Vanlisa) of Houston, TX, and a cherished uncle, Johnny Johnson (Mary Lee) of Cottonport, LA; 7 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his kindness and generous spirit.
Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Johnson, and his sister, Lana R. Bates; his ex-wife, Lisa W. Johnson; his paternal grandparents, Henry Johnson and Virgia Matin Johnson; and maternal grandparents, Lola B. Augustine and Cleveland Lazine.

Johnson bring peace to those who loved him, and may his spirit live on in the acts of kindness he demonstrated every day.
