Darth Harrison Voytecki, 26 of Greenville, North Carolina, passed away on April 22, 2022. Darth was born in Clearwater, Florida on December 15, 1995 to Kevin and Karen Voytecki. He attended DH Conley High School, Pitt Community College, and East Carolina University.
He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Karen Voytecki; younger brother, Luke; grandparents Lee and Judy Johnson, the Johnson family (Uncle Steve, Aunty Cindy, cousin Sarah), the Konczal family (Aunt Cheryl, Uncle Ken, cousins Katelynn, Kristen, Kelli), the Christopher family (Auntie, Scott, Holly, Aubrey, Londyn) and other cherished extended family members. Close family friends that had a special place in Darth's heart include Tricia Anderson, "Nurse" Marie Shevlin, Kim Ethington, Jaquan Roberts, Jack and Mei Wang, and the Harris family.
Darth was always caring and generous with family and friends. He had a special way of connecting with people. He entertained people with his hilarious antics, resulting in Aunt Kim wanting to write a book. In addition to people, he loved his calico, long-tail, spunky cat. Although Chrissy was a rescue cat, Darth always said Chrissy rescued him.
Darth loved to spend time with his brother, Luke. Darth was an amazing big brother. He looked out for Luke's best interests in school and at his job. Darth and Luke bonded as brothers with their shared interests in video games (Halo was their favorite), playing Pokemon card game, watching anime, and spending time at Highway 55.
Darth was a gifted trumpeter. In high school, he attended the North Carolina Governor's School in instrumental music for gifted performing artists. While attending East Carolina University, he rose to the ranks of first chair for the ECU Symphony Orchestra. Darth would travel and take master classes with well renowned trumpeters in order to sharpen his skills.
Darth's favorite place to work was at Osaka restaurant in Greenville, North Carolina. He began to work at Osaka in high school and over time was promoted to a manager for his dedication and diligent work attitude. Darth developed a special bond with the owners, Jack, Mei, and their child Jack Jr., who embraced him as one of their own. It was a home away from home for him.
As is a Voytecki trait, Darth enjoyed food. He was a great cook, with Greek Chicken being his brother Luke's preference. Tricia's eggplant was a delicacy, as was Dad's guacamole.
Darth definitely had the travel bug and appreciated every new city he explored. He especially loved the trips to New York City and Broadway with Mom. Darth was born a Cheesehead, however, he somehow ended up a die-hard Indianapolis Colts fan. Darth and his Dad traveled to Lucas Oil Stadium to watch the Colts win.
Darth enjoyed playing all types of games (Star Wars card games, Catan, Splendor, miniatures). His best cribbage partner was Grandma, Grandpa was his disc golf buddy, and he competed on corn hole with Dad and Grandpa. Countless hours were spent playing at home or game conventions.
With a name like Darth, what could he expect? A lifetime of spectacular Star Wars experiences, which he fully embraced with his family and friends - movie premieres, Star Wars conventions, Star Wars Disney weekends, lightsaber battles in the yard, family featured in international news stories, meeting Star Wars celebrities, Star Wars toy runs - always searching for the newest collectible. His favorite movie - The Empire Strikes Back. Favorite character: Boba Fett.
MTFBWY Always.
