Mr. James Carnell Walker, Jr., age 77, a resident of Washington, NC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, NC officiated by Reverand Matt Carr. A visitation will follow immediately after the service at the home of his son, Jimmy and Brandy, 153 Harbor Road in Riverside, Washington, NC.

Mr. Walker was born on October 23, 1947, in Beaufort County to the late James Carnell Walker, Sr. and the late Margie Haddock Walker. He was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School and a 1970 graduate of East Carolina University. He remained a supporter of the Pam Pack and Pirate football for many years. He was active in coaching football for Washington Optimist Youth Football. He also enjoyed playing tennis, dove hunting, and trolling for Spanish Mackerel. Mr. Walker was a member of the Washington Jaycees and a long-time member of First Christian Church in Washington.

Mr. Walker is survived by his sons, Dr. James "Jimmy" Carnell Walker, III and wife, Brandy, and children Reagan, Jackson, and Hayes of Washington and Charles Andrew "Drew" Walker and wife, Ashley, and children Trent, Hunter and Colton of Ayden; his sister Suzanne Walker and husband Dwight of Albertson; his former wife, Dale Gautier Walker of Washington; and many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the charities of one's choice.
