Darwin Lee Davis, 67, of Cordova, Tennessee, passed away on October 28, 2025, in Cordova, from ALS. Born on December 27, 1957, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Darwin lived a life marked by faith, music, and dedication to his family and community.
Darwin was the beloved husband of Linda Tyler Davis of Cordova, Tennessee. He is also remembered by his mother, Eula Davis of Jonesboro, Arkansas; his children Troy (Erin) Hallsell of Great Falls, Montana; Lauren Morgan of Cordova, Tennessee; Jennifer Huggins (Curtis) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Michelle Davis of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Brother-in-law Mike Tyler (Linda) of Jacksonville, AR; Sister-in-law Janet Tyler Waters (John) of Wichita, KS and many beloved nieces and nephews. Also, his grandchildren: Tyler Morgan, Jacob Morgan, and Emma Morgan of Great Falls, Montana; and Jayden Huggins, Kayla Huggins, and Lyla Davis of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Davis; his son-in-law, Jake Morgan; his brother, Rodney Joe Davis; and his son, Kevin Lee Davis.
Darwin graduated from Jonesboro High School where he was actively involved in choir and musical productions, often taking on leading roles. His passion for music led him to pursue a degree in Church Music from Arkansas State University. While at ASU, he continued to contribute to the university's vibrant music department and choir.
Throughout his life, Darwin held various management positions across different industries. Most recently, he worked at FedEx in
Memphis, Tennessee. Known for his strong work ethic and quiet determination, Darwin approached every role with diligence.
Music was a central part of Darwin's life. A gifted vocalist with a beautiful voice, he used his talents to serve in the music ministry at every church he attended. He was a longtime member of the Celebration Choir at Nettleton Baptist Church in Jonesboro and spent the last two decades singing with the Bellevue Choir in Cordova. He loved performing solos and participating in musicals such as The Singing Christmas Tree. From an early age, Darwin sang in a gospel band with his family-a tradition that laid the foundation for a lifetime of musical ministry.
In addition to music, Darwin enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues both in Jonesboro and Memphis until health challenges made it difficult to continue. Whether through song or sport, he found joy in community and fellowship.
Darwin's faith was the cornerstone of his life. A born-again Christian from a young age, he lived out his beliefs with humility and grace. He had a generous spirit and a quiet strength that made him a steadfast friend to many. He was devoted to sharing the Gospel and often reached out to others with words of encouragement and hope. His life was a testament to service-both to God and to those around him.
Darwin Lee Davis will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to those who loved him.
