Darwin "Peter" Euto, 78, of Richfield, NC, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, after a prolonged battle with cancer.

He was born August 11, 1945 in Massena, NY, 1 of 5 children, all who have preceded him in death, Peter attended college there, went on to serve in the army, married and had 2 children.

Peter spent most of his career as an IT specialist, working for Alcoa in Washington State, Pittsburgh, PA, and lastly Albemarle, NC.  After leaving Alcoa he continued his career as a professor, teaching business classes at Catawba College.  He was highly regarded by his students and his classes were quick to fill.

Always eager to lend a hand, he then volunteered his time at Waterworks Visual Arts Center, helping where needed.  His most enjoyable assignment was leading children on tours of exhibits, helping them learn to appreciate art.  He later was invited to servce on the Board of Directors.

Peter was an avid deer hunter and loved to be outdoors.  You could find him walking, kayaking, swimming, boating, bird watching of just puttering around at his lake house.

An informal Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 5:00 pm at 1070 Panther Point Rd., Richfield, NC.  In the event of inclement weather, the location will be 1348 Panther Point Rd.

Survivors include his loving wife, Debra Brazee; Son Jeffrey Euto; daughter, Shawna Coleman and husband Brad; grandchildren, Sullivan and Alexandra Coleman and several nieces and nephews.
