Thomas "Tom" Williams

Thomas "Tom" Williams, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on October 30, 2025. He was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina, on July 6, 1938, to the late Thomas B. Williams and Ethel Flowe Williams. Tom grew up alongside his two older brothers, Donald Williams and Norman Williams, both of whom preceded him in death.
Tom was married to Martha Lynch Williams for 61 wonderful years. He was the devoted father of Kimberly (Buck) Johnson and Christopher (Melissa) Williams and the proud grandfather of Trevor (Camille) Williams, Ainsley (Matt) Brooks, and Emma (Collin) Moak. He was also the loving great-grandfather of Memphis, Eliza, James, Nolan, and one little one on the way.
A graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, Tom went on to earn a B.A. from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina. A U.S. Army Veteran, he proudly served his country. Tom retired from General Motors Acceptance Corporation after a long and dedicated career then continued working for Enterprise Rent-A-Car for an additional 21 years.
Tom had many passions. He loved sports-especially LSU baseball and football-and he took great joy in tending his garden and sharing the vegetables he grew. He was active throughout his life, enjoying exercise, playing tennis with friends, and running for many years. In his younger days, he even competed in various track events.
He was a longtime member of the Slidell Noon Lions Club, where he served two terms as president. Above all, Tom cherished spending time with his friends and family.
Tom found great joy in serving as an usher at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where he worshiped faithfully for many years. Knowing he is now in heaven with Jesus brings comfort to his family, who imagine him helping to welcome new arrivals alongside Saint Peter.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Tom's life at the service with visitation, reception, and slideshow to follow on Saturday, January 10, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church located at 360 Robert Rd.in Slidell, LA.
