Horseheads, NY
Passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025 in the comfort of his home at the age of 77. He was born March 8, 1948 in Elmira, NY, a son of the late Clayton and Irene Patterson German.
He is also predeceased by his daughter, Heather German; brother, Gary German and sister, JoAnne Thomas.
Darwin is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Dianne Cornish German; son, Bryan German of Berea, KY; brothers, Harold, Ron and Larry German; nieces and nephews, Samantha, Garrison, Ronnie, Mike, Jeremy, Bobby and Kevin; extended family members and a host of friends.
Darwin was a graduate of Edison High School in 1966, Corning Community College in 1968, and Fredonia in 1970 earning a Bachelor's Degree of Science. After working at A&P he later went back to Corning Community College in 1984 and earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science. Dar retired from Emhart Glass and enjoyed dirt racing and stock car racing. He loved Keuka Lake, sailing, scuba diving and woodworking. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, for his spread sheets and his unusual taste in music.
The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St., at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from from 12-2PM with his Funeral Service to follow at 2PM. He will be laid to rest alongside his daughter, Heather at Maple Grove Cemetery immediately following.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to remember Darwin please consider contributions to CareFirst NY, 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, New York 14870 or a charity of your choice in his memory.
