Daryl D. Mesch Sr. passed away suddenly surrounded by his family on June 6, 2025. Daryl was born in Dubuque, Iowa on June 8, 1940, to Lavern Mesch Sr. and Lillian (Singer). He retired from Ingersol Milling in 2001. He worked on cars in his spare time. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He joined West Suburban Fire Protection District October 6, 1999, as a volunteer firefighter/ EMR until June 6, 2025, when he passed away. He was Survived by his wife Kathleen (Prosise) Mesch. He Survived by his children: Kay, Lawrence (Denise), Anita, Daryl Jr. (Penny), Keith (Lorraine), Gerald (Michele), William (Brittany), and Stepson David (Amanda). He survived by his brother Michael (Linda), Sister Rosemary, special sister-in-law Helen (Kenneth) Walton. He survived thirty-seven Grand-children include: Cristopher (Melissa), Christina (Shane), Lawrence (Ashley), Scott, Tiffany (Davon Sr.), Sydney, Austin, Ashleigh (Devon), Taylor, Tiffany, Skylar, Brittany, Keith A.M., Michael, Amanda (Josh), Matthew (Deidre), Eli (Cassidy), Gerald II (Jenny), Brandon (Marissa), Cherish (Bryant), Stephanie (Tim), Michael, George, Elizabeth, Hope, and Aidon. He survived by Fifty-five Great-Grandchildren include: Bryce (Jackie), Autumn, Araina (Jayden), Zoey, Cristopher, Robert, Amber (Phil), Mckaylynn (Alex), James'Thomas (Klaudia), Braeden, Alyssa, Alora, Tony, Zoey, Nilah, Atalyia, Davon Jr, Jeffery, Aleeah, Bently, Cadrian, Kaycen, Giabella, Camiah, Arelia, Rowyn, Jace, Bianca, Hector, Michael, Tori, Daniel, Chase, Brooklinn, Jayce, Aiden, Khloe, Catilaya, Sylvia, Malachi, Erin, Colton, Haven, Jason, Carter, Greyson, Isaac, Laylah, Michael II, Netiri. He survived six Great-Great-Grandchildren including: Nala, Ryan, Kaylee, Kora, Kayden, Karsyn. He proceeded in death by: Wife Viriginia, Mother Lillian, Father Lavern, Brothers: Calven, Charles (David), Charles (Tommy), Lavern Jr., Sisters: Dixie, Billie, Grandchildren: Shane Trepanier, Cody Mesch, Anesia Mesch, Cody Maynard. He survived by extended family Jack Chandler, Rebecca (June) Moss, Candie Johnson, Joey (Karen) Hall, Tina (Richie) West, Kayla West, Samantha West, Brianna West, Hadley West, Noah Gerber, And the Chandler Family. He survived several niece's and nephew's and several special friends.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral home Inc. from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Luncheon will be held Saturday at West Suburban Fire Department 3816 West State St.
