Daryl Eugene Nohrenberg

Daryl Nohrenberg, age 71 of Cottage Grove, Minnesota passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

Daryl was born on September 18, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN to Samuel and Lillian (Zielsdorf) Nohrenberg. He grew up in Minneapolis and went on to earn his nursing degree at the University of Minnesota. Daryl married the love of his life, Sandra "Sandy" Brinkman on June 20, 1984 and they eventually made their home in Cottage Grove where they have remained. The majority of his career was at St. Joseph's Hospital where he worked as the charge nurse of the psychiatric unit. He was able to retire in 2019.

Daryl especially enjoyed the outdoors often by deer and bird hunting, fishing, gardening and taking his daily walk. He was also an avid reader with a desire to always be learning and shared his dry sense of humor when he had opportunity. He will be remembered for his patient and compassionate demeanor, being a good listener and a man of faith. He leaves behind a legacy of love to his family and will be deeply missed.

Daryl is survived by his wife of 41 years Sandy; daughter Sarah Nohrenberg; brother LuVerne (Shirlee); sister Gloria Nohrenberg and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Lillian Nohrenberg; brothers Stanley and Alvin and sister Lenora Sweeney.

Memorial service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S.; Cottage Grove, MN with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM.
