Daryl L. Wagner, 74, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 in his home. Born August 16, 1951 in Chambersburg he was the son of the late Dorothy (Wagner) Deardorff.
He was a graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1969. Daryl was employed as welder at Grove Manufacturing for a number of years where his coworkers knew him as “Dink”. He then went on to drive truck for PennDot where his coworkers referred to him as “Haystack”. He retired from PennDot after 13 years of service.
Daryl enjoyed raising mule horses, going to horse sales, participating and going to horse pulls, and in his younger years building show wagons. He also enjoyed hunting and working in his garage.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Beverly C. (Myers) Wagner who he married April 12, 1969; a daughter, Dottysue Wagner; five grandchildren, Shane, Haylie, Corey, Brett, and Brandon; nine great-grandchildren, Olivia, Paislee, Aubree, Addison, Brandon, Jr., Parker, Brasken, Colt, and Jace; two brothers, Dale and Leon Wagner; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his son, Daryl Lynn Wagner and two siblings, Benny Deardorff and Marlene Bachtell.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 5, 2026 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Nate Knoll officiating. Burial will follow in Fetterhoff Chapel Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening in the funeral home as well as one hour prior to the service Thursday morning in the funeral home.
