To remember Dave Budhoo is to remember a man who radiated hope and positivity in every circumstance. Though we lost a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, serviceman, and friend on August 7, 2025, we will never lose the spirit he instilled in us-the belief that each day is a blessing to be cherished.
Dave's love for his family surpassed everything-even his passion for football and the New York Giants. He never placed anything above family. His beloved wife, Leela-affectionately called "Leel"-was the center of his universe. From the moment he first saw her in high school, he knew she was "the one." From that day until his final breath, she remained the love of his life. His grandchildren brought out his playful side, and he adored every moment spent with them.
Outside of family, Sundays were sacred-reserved for football. No team stirred his emotions quite like the Giants. Their losses sparked legendary rants shared with his son, father, brothers, and nephew. His other passions included traveling-having explored over 100 countries-and gardening, where his green thumb was on full display.
Dave was truly one of a kind-a beacon of light and inspiration to all who knew him. His memory will live on in our hearts, and the joy he brought to our lives will never fade. He leaves behind his cherished wife Leela, his children Nadina and Dillon, and his grandchildren Jay, Gavin, and Amaya.
We invite you to join us in honoring Dave's life at his viewing on August 11th and his funeral on August 12th. Though we grieve his loss, we find comfort in the hope he gave us and the enduring presence of his love-lifting us up and reminding us never to give up.
