Dave Dozier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arner Funeral Chapel - Chester on Dec. 11, 2025.
David D. Dozier of East Liverpool passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday, December 8, 2025. Born in East Liverpool on August 4, 1962, David was the son of Mary "Granny" Miller Bowyer and the late Eugene Bowyer. He was 63 years old. David built a lifelong career as an over-the-road truck driver, and in recent years, took great pride in owning and operating his own rig. Though he tried to present a stern exterior, those who knew him best recognized his gentle, caring nature. He cherished time with family and friends at the "Dozier Compound," insisting he was the only one who could cut the grass just right. There, he constructed the beloved "Harley shed," where he would spend hours admiring his prized motorcycle when not on the road. David was also a proud veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his father; his cherished grandparents, Paul Miller Jr. and Mary Miller; and the mother of his children and lifelong friend, Lisa Dozier. His children survive him: Jamie Dozier of East Liverpool; Dave (Nicole) Dozier II of East Liverpool; Dillon Dozier of Columbus; and Autum (Isiah) Cooksey of Columbus. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Austyn, Kiersten, Garrett, Jalen, Aubri, Braydon, and Sammi, and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Jaxx. His siblings-Terry Lang of East Liverpool, Robin (Don) Bunch of Lisbon, Rick (Penny) Burlingame of Austintown, Duane Bowyer of Carrollton -and his constant K-9 companion, Roxy, also survive him. A celebration of Dave's life, led by family friend Terry Freeman, will be held at the Arner Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 12, at 6:00 p.m. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., prior to the service.
