Edith Cain Dozier

DOZIER- Mrs. Edith Cain Dozier passed away at home in Brewton, Alabama on December 4, 2025, at the age of 103. Edith was born on March 22, 1922, in Buford, Georgia. She was a graduate of Buford High School where she was a member of the 1936 championship basketball team. She attended Georgia State college. During WWII she supported the troops by working as a bookkeeper for the USO. She met the love of her life in Atlanta. They married in 1946 and settled in Brewton, Alabama. She was very active in the community serving in the civic league, as a den mother for cub scouts, a troop leader for girl scouts, a volunteer with Red Cross and as president of the Jayceettes. She was instrumental in establishing the Brewton Public Library and helped to restore the Gray Ladies at D.W. McMillan Hospital. She was a active member of the Meadorwood Garden Club and 4th District Dental Auxiliary (past president). She was a member of the First Baptist Church Brewton. Edith will always be remembered for her sense of humor and loving concern for her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the First Baptist Church Brewton.

Private family only Graveside services are set for Friday afternoon, December 12, 2025, at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Rev. Pat Poole and Son Joe Cain Dozier officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton, Alabama with WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME OF BREWTON, ALABAMA DIRECTING.
