Dave Grant (loving husband of Deb Grant) age 73 of Lafayette, MN, went home to be with his Lord on July 29th, 2025.
Dave was born on November 24th, 1951, in Fairmont, MN. He attended Fairmont public school where he was involved in many activities, excelling in both football and track. After graduating in 1970 he enrolled at Worthington Jr. College to play football. While there he met the love of his life, Deb Johnson. They were married on December 23rd, 1972, at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church, Norseland, MN. They were blessed with three children, the joys of his life, Nathan, Naomi and Rebekah.
Always the hard worker, he spent many years as a Schwan’s driver in IA, SD and NE and later went back to college to complete his Master of Psychology at St. Mary’s University. After some time as a substance abuse counselor, he made a career change to what would become his favorite job as the Maintenance Manager for Maple Terrace in Waseca, MN. There he took great pride in caring for not only the property but the residents he came to know and love.
Dave enjoyed many activities, golfing, watching the Vikings, playing cards, mowing the lawn and putting together a good puzzle, but his greatest joy came from supporting his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in all their activities. He could always be found in the crowd cheering louder than anyone else showing his pride.
He will be remembered for many things, his strength, generosity, smile and deep love for his family. Most importantly he will be remembered for his unwavering faith and teaching his children to love the Lord.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Deb, his son Nathan (Becky) Grant of St. Peter, daughters Naomi (Carl) West of Elk River and Rebekah (Ryan) Hartman of St. Peter. Grandchildren, Hunter Retzlaff, Logan (Kevin) Blanksma, Ethan (Kyra) Grant, Cory (Tera) Boyd, Shantel (Aaron) Pavlicek, Milena Green, Cindy Green, Judah Hartman, as well as 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his father Dave Grant, mother Georgia Siems, stepfather Robert Siems, father-in-law Gerald Johnson, mother-in-law Hazel Johnson, sister-in-law Barb Saxton, sister-in-law Tammy Johnson, sister Pamela Hardin and nephew Craig Johnson.
