Spokane, Washington - David Michael Schmitz, 67, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on Thursday February 19, 2026. Dave was born on March 30,1958 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Patrick and Audrey Schmitz.
After graduating from St. Peter High School, St. Peter, MN, David pursued a career in cement masonry for over 40 years. He owned and operated Viking Concrete Construction in Kennewick, WA.
David was known for his love of sports, hunting, and dogs. He spent his free time with family and friends. He was a dedicated member of St. Joseph's Church, Kennewick, WA.
David is survived by wife Nancy (Lucas) Schmitz and their daughters, Elsa Blankinship (Brandt), Melissa Hayes (Ryan) and beloved granddaughter, Ophelia; his mother Audrey, and siblings James Schmitz (Cheryl), Lori Connor (John), Ann Brooks, and Michael Schmitz (Karla), all of Minnesota.
Dave is "Safe at Home"
