Dave McGuire Obituary Dave McGuire, of
Warsaw, Indiana, passed away surrounded, supported, and loved by his family on March 6, 2025, after an eight-year-long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born on May 15, 1953, in Lancer, Floyd County, Kentucky to Billie (Sammons) and Burnis McGuire. Dave's life was marked by love, compassion, and hard work, along with a deep connection to family, friends, and his passions for the outdoors, animals, cars, and music. His commitment to these values shaped the legacy he leaves behind.
He worked for many years at Gatke Corp. before finishing his career at Zimmer Biomet as a machinist. He was also the proud owner of McGuire's Guns & Ammo, where he shared his love for the outdoors with others. An avid outdoorsman, Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. He was an active member of the Francis Slocum Trail Riders in Peru, Indiana, where he held several officer positions. He had a profound respect for nature and a special bond with animals, tending to his horses, dogs, and cats for over 30 years and cherishing their companionship.
His kindness, generosity, and great sense of humor made him beloved by all who knew him. He was a hardworking, thoughtful man with a generous soul, caring heart, and joyful spirit, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Whether flying a kite, riding a 4-wheeler, building a snow igloo, or simply sitting around a campfire, Dave treasured time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He also found joy in spending time with his brothers and sisters, sharing stories, laughter, and creating cherished memories together. His love and laughter will live on in their hearts forever.
Dave's love for his wife, Holly, was the cornerstone of his life. Married in 1977, they shared a bond built on mutual respect, shared dreams, and unwavering support for one another. Together, they created a beautiful life full of love and joy, and their partnership was an example of devotion and deep affection. Dave's love for Holly was evident in everything he did, and their connection was a constant source of strength and happiness for both.
He was a loving husband to Holly, a devoted father to son Joshua and daughter Brandy, and a proud grandfather to Mariah, Braxton, and Nyomie. His family was the center of his world, and he will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him. Dave also had many lifelong friends who were like family to him, and their bonds will remain a testament to the warmth and loyalty he shared with those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife Holly (Nicholls) McGuire (
Warsaw, IN); daughter Brandy (Robert) Fey (Fort Wayne, IN); and his granddaughters, Mariah and Nyomie. Also surviving are his siblings, Patricia McGuire (Winona Lake, IN); Norman McGuire (
Warsaw, IN); Delores McGuire (Winona Lake, IN); and Herman McGuire (
