MAYVILLE – Mr. David Michael “Dave” Pezo, age 68, our hard-working, caring, adventurous, and determined brother, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, and friend passed away suddenly on December 20, 2025.
Dave was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on May 28, 1957, to Tony & Lois (Plumb) Pezo. He grew up alongside his brothers George and Paul and graduated from Mayville High School with the class of 1975. After high school, Dave began his career as a mechanic with Cook’s Chevrolet in Vassar in 1976 a position he proudly continued until he passed away. Dave was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. His hunting trips included traveling to British Columbia, Alaska, Wyoming, and Alabama. He was a lifelong member of the Richville Conservation Club and N.R.A. Dave also enjoyed motorsports, particularly racing monster trucks for Predator Racing and drag racing around the state of Michigan. Above all, Dave loved his family and being an uncle and great-uncle to his nephew and nieces. He will be deeply missed.
Dave is survived by his brother, Paul (Kim) Pezo; nephew, Paul “Junior” (Katie) Pezo; niece, Dawn Pezo; great-nieces, Scarlett, Courtney, and Natalie; aunt, Martha Pezo; as well as extended family and friends.
He is reunited with his parents Tony & Lois Pezo; brother, George Pezo; and other family members.
Dave’s family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025; additional visitation from 12 p.m. until the time of service. Family friend, Pastor Tom McTaggart will preside. Interment in Fremont Twp. Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at the Richville Conservation Club.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family discretionary fund c/o Mr. Paul Pezo.
