Dave lost his battle with cancer on January 10, 2025, at the age of 65. He died peacefully at home. Dave was born on July 16, 1959, to Carol and Edmund Stahl in Olivia, Minnesota. He grew up in Blomkest, MN, graduated from Willmar High School in 1977, then graduated from the Technical Art and Illustration program at Willmar Vo-Tech in 1978. In 1985, Dave married Sandra Rieckman. They were blessed with their son, Kyle, and lived in Inver Grove Heights, MN.
When Dave was 16 years old, he was the recipient of the world's first successful bone marrow transplant to treat Burkitt's lymphoma. His brother, Kim Stahl, was the donor.
Dave worked at Tennant as a illustrator for 32 years. He loved fishing, hunting, golf, and the MN Twins and Vikings. He loved being around people and always made them laugh. Dave brought the party with him wherever he went. He was very active in the community. He coached youth sports when his son was younger and was constantly participating in or organizing various bowling and golf leagues.
Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, Edmund T. Stahl, and his brother, Kim Stahl.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra; his son, Kyle (and wife Kendra); his granddaughter, Isabella; his mother, Carol from Blomkest, MN; and his brother, Mark (and wife Lisa) from Spicer, MN. He leaves behind many other loving family members and dear friends who he truly enjoyed sharing his life with. His smile will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life held in the spring.
