David W. Ackerson, 77, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest, September 10, 2025 at Freeman West Hospital.
David Wayne Ackerson was born July 31, 1948 in Joplin, MO the son of Calvin and Freida (McElhany) Ackerson. David had lived in the area most of his life. He served his country in the United States Army during Viet Nam War. He loved all types of sports, he was a big fan of the Bronco's and the Cardinals. David loved spending time with his family. He loved to be on the lake and fishing. He was a people person and did not know a stranger. David owned and operated Classic Floors in Joplin, MO. He was a member of the Seneca Assembly of God where he served as a Deacon. David also drove the church bus to pick up kids on Wednesday nights.
David Wayne Ackerson Married Darlene (Dolly) Hembree and she survives. Additional survivors include his sons Darin Ackerson, Broken Arrow, OK, DJ Ackerson and wife Kasandra and Doug Ackerson both of Loma Linda, MO and Derek Ackerson and wife Kristen Kelly Ackerson, Mckinney, TX; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald Ackerson and wife Connie Seneca, MO, Daniel Ackerson and wife Denise, Seneca, MO, Debbie Carson and husband Michael, Pittsburg, KS and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends 6-7 pm, Monday, Sept. 15, 2025 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025 at the Seneca Assembly of God with Pastor Denny Sikes officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Derek Ackerson, Doug Ackerson, Darin Ackerson, DJ Ackerson, Conner Ackerson and Brody Petty serving as pallbearers.
