David "Dave" Martin Adams, age 82, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully under the loving care of his family on October 3, 2025. Dave was born on May 27, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, to David Adams and Norma (Lindsey) Whigham.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years Judwonder Adams (Walls); loving son Michael Adams; step-children Michael Walls, Jamel Walls, Lorie, and LaTonya Walls; cherished grandchildren Roneka, Shaneka, and Brianna; step-grandchildren Mikala Walls, Sha'keema McKinney, Michael Walls, Jr., Day'shon McKinney, and Kemon Walls; many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. siblings Constance Perry, Charlotte Adams, and Reginald Whigham; devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents David Adams and Norma Whigham; brothers Clarence Hill, Jr. and Robert Adams; Uncle Paul Whigham.
David was a joyful soul whose passions and humor touched everyone around him. He loved singing, shooting hoops, and challenging anyone brave enough to face him in ping pong. A true adventurer at heart, he stayed active through workouts and expressed his creativity as a talented artist. Known as a great salesman with a golden smile, he also had a soft spot for his beloved Kirby. At home, he found peace in feeding the birds and tending to his garden, always dressed sharp and full of wisdom to share. A devoted husband to his wife, Judwonder, he was also a proud history buff who could spend hours watching and critiquing sports-especially his favorite pastime of calling the Lions "bums." Surrounded by his loving family and friends, he leaves behind laughter, lessons, and memories that will be cherished forever.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home (4204 Ann Arbor Road, Jackson) on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, beginning at 12 P.M. with Pastor Antoine Bracey officiating. Private interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home in Jackson.
