David Allen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Springs Funeral Services - Platte on Mar. 13, 2026.
David Martin Allen was born in Pontiac, Michigan, on June 10, 1963, to Harold and Irene Allen.

David attended and graduated from Pontiac Central High School. He was dedicated to physical fitness through martial arts and strength training with a passion for culinary arts.

David served with honor and distinction in the Army for 15 years, achieving the senior enlisted rank of E-7. During his military service, he earned numerous accolades, later distinguishing himself as a Certified Chef de Cuisine with the American Culinary Federation.

As a respected Army veteran and devoted brother, David lived with unwavering commitment, guiding his younger sibling Charlie toward a similar path of service. He was known for being an incredibly supportive, fun-loving, and compassionate individual.

David and Mira Allen were united in marriage in May 2008 during his military service in Korea. Bound by a shared love for fishing and cooking, they were each other's closest companions.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Irene Allen; his siblings, Kimberly Pittman, Dorcas Allen, Kathleen Allen, Michael (Moochie) Allen, and James Berryhill. He is survived by his wife Mira, his children: Dave Sloan, Brittany, Ethan and Martina Allen, his granddaughter Brielle Smith, his stepdaughter Yerin Lee, his siblings Harold Allen Jr, Pammy (Richard) Crosby, Charlotte Allen, Vicky (James) Ross, Kevin Allen, Mia (Michael) Williams, Charlie (Dianna) Allen and Camillya Allen and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Memorial quote- "David, your smile and those dimples are etched into my mind forever. Growing up as cousins, we were so inseparable that people couldn't mention one of us without the other. I've lost my other half, but I'll carry our love and your laughter with me until we meet again."

Your cousin Brenda

Poem- I miss you brother! I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that, too. I think of you in silence. I often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part. God has you in his keeping I have you in my heart.

Memorial Services will take place at 11:00AM, Thursday, March 19, 2026 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909
