David Allison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pearson Funeral Home on Mar. 4, 2026.
David T. Allison ("Dave"), 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on February 26, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, N. Townsend ("Towney") Allison and Harriet Grant Allison, and his brother, Robert Grant Allison (Sara). He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara ("Bobbi") Wagner Allison; his son, James Townsend Allison (Summer) of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; his daughter, Sandra Allison Padgett (Matt) of Versailles, Kentucky; and his cherished grandchildren, Madison Rusher (Sam), Jed Padgett, Declan Allison, and Lux Allison.

Dave was born in Detroit, Michigan, and was raised in Scarsdale, New York, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Penn State University. He enjoyed a successful 40-year career in restaurant management and later restaurant marketing.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dave especially loved Penn State football, University of Kentucky basketball, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He completed seven marathons along with numerous mini marathons.

His faith was central to his life. Dave was an active member of Christ Church United Methodist for many years, serving faithfully for two decades as a hospital visitor and for more than 30 years as a member of the Seekers Sunday School class. Dave and Bobbi felt deeply blessed to travel the world together and treasured the many friendships they formed throughout their lives.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 14, 2026, at Christ Church United Methodist, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Church United Methodist or Lighthouse Academy at Newburg.
