David Anderson Obituary

October 14, 1939 – November 29, 2022

David Walter Anderson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, at the age of 83 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Mercedes, Texas, on October 14, 1939 to Jessie and Walter Anderson. David graduated from Texas A&M University in 1961 as a proud and loyal Aggie with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing.

David enjoyed a 34 year career with E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company. His time at DuPont led him to Amarillo, Little Rock, San Antonio, Houston, and Jacksonville. It was in Amarillo where David met the love of his life, Sue Ann Washburn. They were married in Dallas in 1964 and were together for their 58th wedding anniversary on November 28. A few years after they were married, the couple welcomed their first child, Eric, and later, Mark. David's sons were his pride and joy and he was a devoted, hands-on Dad who always put his family first.

Upon retirement in 1995, David and Sue Ann moved to Lakeway, Texas. Throughout their retirement, the couple enjoyed boating on Lake Travis as well as cruising and traveling with good friends to places near and far. It was during this time when God blessed David and Sue Ann with two beautiful daughters-in-laws and later five remarkable grandchildren who all know David affectionately as Pop.

David is survived by his wife, Sue Ann; son Eric and his wife Kelley; son Mark and his wife Julie; his grandchildren; Luke, Ellie, John Austin, Katie and Wells Anderson and, his brother, Jerry Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Walter Anderson.

A memorial service for David will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, December 27, in the Chapel of Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd, Lakeway, TX 78734. Following the service, guests are invited to greet the family at a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
