FARMINGTON – David Edward Anderson, of Farmington, entered eternal rest on June 25, 2024, at his home at the age of 57. He was born on June 11, 1967, in Noble County, Indiana to John Edward and Reva (Goodwin) Anderson.
David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tamara "Tammy" (Hovis) Anderson, his sons, Jonathan (Vanessa) Anderson of Farmington and Matthew Anderson of Farmington, his sisters, Linda (Ron) Marler of Bonne Terre and Janet Shippee of Bonne Terre, his mother-in-law, Pearl Hovis of Farmington, his nieces and nephews, Seth, Shawna, Erin, Sara, Ken, Evan, Ashley, Allicia, Michelle and Christina, along with many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents, John and Reva Anderson, his brother, Dennis Anderson, his nephew, Timothy A. Hovis Jr., his father-in-law, Carl A. Hovis Jr., and his brothers-in-law, David Shippee and Timothy A. Hovis, Sr.
David is a veteran of the United States Army. He formerly worked for Little Tikes and as a self-employed carpet installer. He was very involved in Boy Scouts and was the former Assistant Scout Master of Troop 471. He volunteered for the Farmington High School Marching Band and the Boosters Club where his sons attended school. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, morel mushroom hunting, grilling, puzzles, and tooting his conch shell. David will be remembered as a jokester who was always kindhearted and very giving. He will be dearly missed by all who love him.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in the Cozean Chapel. Interment to follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Farmington High School Band Boosters, P.O. Box 1415, Farmington, MO 63640 or to Friends of Scouting, 4568 West Pine Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63108.
